​The capstone project for Early College students is a service learning project completed during the student’s 13th year. Service learning has proven time and again to be an effective means of helping students apply the knowledge of their educational experience to a world beyond them. It also serves a greater purpose….an opportunity for students to give of themselves. It is difficult to quantify the value of this, but certainly our quality of life improves tremendously when we realize the potential we have to make a difference. Many times, people will say, “I always wanted to help out but never knew how…” Service learning projects such as ours will provide students with the skills and confidence necessary in taking that first step towards making positive changes in the world around them.
