Every year Michigan Early Middle College Association (MEMCA) hosts a student leadership conference. This year the conference was hosted at Saginaw Valley State University. Oxford Schools Early College (OSEC) selected five students to participate in the conference. Students who attended got to see a bit of the campus and participate in leadership activities. The day began with a keynote speech about the power of not being afraid to ‘get your boots dirty’ and putting your ideas of helping others into action
. After lunch, the students were divided into breakout sessions where they were able to think about the things they value, and what they are passionate about. The conference will reconvene in the spring to touch again on the importance of leadership and helping others.
